The Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry and Restitution on human rights abuses by the police Special Anti-Robbery Squad has called on members of the public with complaints against the disbanded notorious police unit to come forward with their complaints.
The seven-man inquiry panel, headed by Justice Doris Okuwobi, was inaugurated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday as part of the government’s response to the widespread #EndSARS protests rocking the nation.
The Secretary of the panel, Mr Babajide Boye, in a statement on Tuesday, said the panel had begun work in earnest, adding that victims of police brutality should come forward with their memoranda.
Boye noted that the panel, which will be sitting at the Lagos State Waterways Authority, Five Cowries Terminal, Falomo, Ikoyi, had six months to complete its task.
The panel will be sitting from Monday to Friday between 10am and 4pm.
