A graduate of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD), Ekiti State has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Calabar, Cross River State. The engineering graduate named Charles Tommy was reportedly abducted on September, 1 at about 9:30 pm, along Goldie by Mount Zion, Calabar South Local Government Area.


According to the victim’s brother, the kidnappers had contacted the family and an undisclosed amount was paid for his release, but after payment, the kidnappers demanded additional N10 million ransom for his release.

The victim has remained in the kidnapper’s den due to the family’s inability to pay the N10 million. It was also revealed that the victim’s family has not been able to speak with him since his abduction.

Meanwhile, ABUAD Alumni released a statement on Thursday, demanding for the release of Charles. Read the statement below;
